Im going to start the blog off with thank you's for everyone who has given me support and wished me well for myself, Indi and my eventing. I'm so truly touched and grateful, the horse world is one that seems to bring out the best in people, especially in hard times, and from texts, calls and emails to tweets and facebook messages, everyone has been so supportive. So here goes, in no particular order, and I apologise if I miss anyone but hopefully i'll realise if I do, or feel free to remind me!

I have had people not only in GB, but also in France, Germany, Belgium and America supporting and tweeting about myself and Indi, it's just incredible how horses can pull people together.
Some of these people also have been sending me lots of texts and emails to continue support, I'm truly so touched.
I also had a call from Rowena Cook, and Equissage, giving me advice on using the back pad to help Indi's recovery, increasing blood flow to her intestines and scar tissue to aid healing. Rowena spent quite a while on the phone to me, reassuring me and talking me through her past experiences with colic, which made me feel a lot better. We also went on to talk about ex racehorses, as Fred and Rowena have a lot of involvement in RoR and retraining their own, and clients horses for new careers. This ended with an invite for Fifi to go to a parade for ex racehorses at Doncaster races in September! She is going to be the eventing example, how exciting!
And obviously there are massive thanks to my parents, who managed to help me cope with Indi being ill, and helping me get her to and from the vets, and for generally being brilliantly supportive parents!!
And finally thank you so much to the vets at Chine House, and all the nurses there, they couldnt have been more helpful, and rang me whenever I wasn't there to keep me updated to how Indi was getting on. They looked after her perfectly and one of the nurses said "I don't know what you've done to her but she is so well behaved!" and she was shocked when I said what a brat she was as a foal and how she was a little madam when we first got her back home as a 2 year old. Every single person at Chine House said she was a pleasure to have in and she was so friendly, I was so glad she had behaved so well for them.
So the update on Indi for you, she is home, and was even allowed to come home a day earlier than planned as she improved so well and so quickly. She is on box rest for another 4 weeks, and then will have limited turnout built up to normal turnout in around 8 weeks. She is behaving very well but getting bored in her stable as she can only go out to graze for 15 minutes twice a day, although she is on normal hay rations now which is helpful. I've had a few suggestions from people who have had horses on box rest, on providing entertainment and I'm going to give them a try so fingers crossed they work! She is having her stitches out tomorrow, so thats another step in the right direction. She will be allowed to resume work in about 9 weeks from now, which will obviously be right at the end of October, and with us not having an arena, our ground will be starting to get wet then so I'll make a decision whether to leave her until after winter or not, nearer the time. I'd absolutely love to get her going and be able to take her hunting after new year but we'll have to see, it all depends on her health and basically what she feels ready to do. I'm so lucky that she has come through this so well so everyday with her is a bonus regardless of what she will do.

Updates on the rest of the team are that I have entered Winkburn Novice on Bandi, thanks to my brother and my Grandad going halves on the entry fee for me! So, so grateful, it would be great if I can have a good run on him and get my CIC* qualification ready for next year, it would mean he can drop back down to BE100 for an easier run at the end of this season and take the pressure off getting another Novice run in. No plans for another run with Fifi yet thanks to fundings, which is gutting but between doing overtime at work and schooling and equissaging other people's horses, I'm working as much as I can for that. I'm hoping they will both finish at Norton Disney at the end of October, Bandi in the BE100 and Fifi in the BE90, but it just depends how things go. Ideally I'd love Fifi to have another 2 runs before that as she's only had 2 runs at BE this year thanks to our withdrawal at Stafford.
My latest supporter MDR Photo is doing so much for me at the moment. He is trying to raise donations to pay for Indi's vets fees so that I can continue eventing off my own back. We've already had donations coming in and literally every penny counts so please take a look at his site. The wonderful Jo Hammond has also offered her brilliant services to help Indi, which can also be seen on Michael's site. She is a wonderful artist and her work is just stunning!
